How do I set up Toast webhooks?

Toast webhooks let ToasterSync update your Shopify products automatically whenever you change a menu item in Toast — available on the Starter and Pro plans.

Step 1: Copy your webhook URL from ToasterSync

  1. Go to Settings → Webhooks
  2. Copy the Webhook URL

Step 2: Register the webhook with Toast

  1. Login to Toast Web
  2. Go to Integrations > Toast API access > Webhooks
  3. Click Add New Webhook
  4. Paste the ToasterSync webhook URL into the Endpoint field
  5. Subscribe to the Menus event category (this covers item, modifier and price changes)
  6. Click Save

Toast will now POST every menu change to ToasterSync. Recent events appear under Dashboard → Logs with their processing status.

How do I connect Shopify?

  1. Go to Settings → Shopify
  2. Enter your Shopify store domain (e.g. my-store or my-store.myshopify.com)
  3. Click Connect with Shopify → — we'll redirect you to Shopify to approve the install
  4. On the Shopify permissions screen, click Install app to grant ToasterSync the product and collection access it needs
  5. Shopify returns you to ToasterSync and the connection is saved automatically — no extra "Save" step is required

You can revoke access at any time from Shopify Admin → Apps, or by clicking Disconnect on the ToasterSync Shopify settings page.

How does duplicate handling work?

During sync you can skip existing Shopify products or update them with Toast data when SKU matches are found.

Do category mappings matter?

Yes. Category mapping controls which Shopify collections each Toast group should populate during sync.

Can I retry failed syncs?

Yes. Open dashboard logs, review failed items, and retry specific products.
